Born and raised in Pennsylvania US she earned a bachelor's degree in political science at John Hopkins University. Jackson began her career working in Maryland Delaware Connecticut and a couple of other cities that were broadcast by TV stations WBOC (affiliated with CBS). She later joined Hearst Corporation, reporting to the 26 stations that operate from Washington DC. In 2014, she joined NBC News. For a entire year, in Los Angeles she was at the NBC Los Angeles Station.
